Walk 2 Live ™

2pm - 20th May 2011

Walk 2 Live is now an annual event and raises thousands of pounds for wildlife conservation projects.

The event takes place during the third week in May each year and is set to create the largest mass sponsored walk in the world. Last year's event raised almost £20,000 for the charity and other good causes.

The walk has been created especially for schools, although other groups and orgainsations are more than welcome to take part. This year's walk was on Friday May 20th, with tens of thousands of people from all over the UK all walking at the same time, at schools and other locations around the country, in an attempt to create a new Guinness World Record™.

If you are a school or other organisation and you would like to receive further information about next year's walk, please contact us HERE.

This year's walk has just taken place at schools all over the UK. It seems the weather was kind and everyone had a great afternoon, walking in aid of wildlife and enjoying the great British countryside in the process. Some schools went to great lengths to provide a fun and interesting walk for their children and, yet again, it is great to hear from schools who have made this event a fun and exciting day for all.

Information for Schools

We have put together a comprehensive Walk Information Pack, which has everything you need to take part in the walk. The pack includes:

  • Walk rules and general guidanceWalk 2 Live ™
  • Entry/completion forms
  • A colourful poster to promote the event
  • Photocopyable sponsor forms
  • A sample letter for parents
  • FREE to enter Prize Draw

To register your school/organisation and to receive a Walk Information Pack, please contact us HERE.

Note. Completing the registration form does not commit you or your school or group to participating in the event.

Most schools will want to organise their own event, with children either walking around their own school grounds, or for some, around their village or town. The rules for the event are simple and all the information you need is provided in the walk pack. Ideally the walk begins at 2pm and although there is no specific distance or time limit, in order to qualify for the Guinness World Record attempt, everyone taking part must be walking at the same time.

Along with supporting a good cause, the walk aims to promote exercise and will encourage children to become more active, with schools reinforcing the message that walking is good for you.

Unlike other sponsored walks, schools have the option of selecting where some of the money they raise goes. In the past schools have supported local wildlife projects run by other charitable organisations and even raised money for use within their school. If you have a local wildlife charity and want to use the walk to raise funds for local projects, Walk 2 Live is the perfect event.

The walk is easy to organise and is great fun for all those taking part. Being part of a genuine World Record attempt, walking for the benefit of endangered wildlife and raising money for a worthwhile cause, guarantee this will be a most enjoyable and exciting day.

So please put the date in your diary and help us raise money to continue protecting endangered wildlife.
